Summary

While playing in the waterpark on our Wisconsin Dells trip, we decided to stick around the pool for an easy dinner so that our toddler could get back to playing before bedtime. The convenience of just picking up a pizza to eat quickly was enough to go back here in the future, but we’d probably order a different pizza than we did. Here’s our Klondike Pizza Kitchen at the Wilderness Review.

The restaurant is upstairs at the Klondike Cavern waterpark in the Wilderness. You can stop by to pick up just one slice or order a whole pizza ahead of time. We saw several tables in the various water parks have the pizza delivered (we learned this after our meal), so one of us ordered the pizza and waited for it to be ready.

Service

The staff at the register was friendly but could have chosen words other than “honey” or “baby.” Getting past this, placing the order was easy enough, and the wait was only 15 minutes for a whole pizza. The speed was something that was valued here when it was a last-minute decision to get a pizza and stay at the pool.

Food

We picked up just one slice of cheese pizza for our toddler from the counter. This was great because neither of us had to suffer through eating the others pizza we didn’t care for. The pizza was fresh, and he enjoyed the slice (pizza is one of his favorite meals).

The two of us shared the Wisconsin Golden Nugget. This sounded interesting and appetizing, with cheese curds, brat slices, and sauerkraut. This had a mix of mozzarella cheese and Wisconsin cheese curds on top of a mustard garlic sauce. What sounded good did not turn out the best. The sauce was a little too much, and overall, the pizza didn’t hit the spot. There were little slices of brats, and I don’t remember much taste from any sauerkraut. We think it would be best to stick with one of the basic pizza combinations, but they also have a few other specials that look decent.

The pizza was rather large and was twice as much as the 3 of us needed. There is no option for a smaller pizza, so if you need a few slices, we’d suggest picking them up individually at the counter. The price of the convenience wasn’t bad either, about $25 for the specialty pizza.

Drinks

A bar is next to the pizza counter if you need to pick up a beer or mixed drink. We did not drink from this bar, but their specialty drink menu is the same as the rest of the resort. The beers on tap looked the same as Survivors, so nothing too extravagant.
