Swim lessons at the local YMCA had him shivering after 5 minutes. Playing around in the indoor water park had him shivering again after 5 minutes, even though the water was warmer. He just needed a little more insulation to enjoy the activities. This wetsuit did the trick, it was easy to put on and held tight to the body to keep in the heat. We could slide a normal swimsuit on over the top so it looks like a vest underneath. I would also suggest buying a size smaller than normal so it fits tighter to the body. We ordered his normal size at first, but water still got inside, which defeats the purpose.

Yes, he is on the skinny side, so we had to order a size smaller than he is now to get the right fit. However, with this toddler thermal suit, he could play for hours in the pool without getting cold.

Another good option for a larger toddler would be this wet suit. We have purchased one and it was a bit loose for him at first. This worked well at the waterpark where he wasn’t submerged the whole time, but in the cold pool for swim lessons, it let in too much water and he was shivering again. As he grows, this will be a great option as it fits more snugly.
